Some things never change

Lately

Well, I can post again. I'm not sure what the deal was, other than getting a 'refused connection' via FTP from my web host. I put in a support ticket and it's now magically working again.

I set up the new plasma without much fuss, and ran a set of break-in images for about 150 hours. The set is pretty nice. I would like to have it calibrated, but I haven't found someone I think will do the job right yet. I also picked up a denon blu-ray player and sort of started buying content on blu-ray...

There isn't much else to tell. Winter is fast approaching, so I'm moving summer stuff from the garage to storage. I want to make room to park the truck in the garage.

Work is fine. Nothing exciting there. I still have a job, which is a plus. I need to go somewhere warm this winter. I haven't had a decent vacation in years.

In local news....

I set up a wireless bridge down in the living room on Saturday. Basically it works with my existing wireless network here at home to give me Ethernet access to the internet. It was actually pretty easy to set up. My only complaint is that the bridge doesn't have external antennas. SO, having that, I dragged one of my LCD monitors to use as a TV. At 24 inches, I feel half blind trying to navigate the tivo menus, but it will get the job done until Thursday. I've been streaming season 1 of 30 rock from netflix, and it's seems to be working rather well.

Saturday I also took a motorcycle ride through the mountains from Morrison to Conifer with a riding group. That was fun, but short.

I got hammered last night and posted a CL personal ad. That didn't seem like such a good idea after I sobered up, so I deleted it. I might be interested in something like that later this winter.

Well, the big TV has gone to a new home. My living room seems monstrous without it. The only headache was taking apart my drop down storage racks in the garage to get it through the door. I'll have to put them back together this weekend.

The garage is kind of a mess with all that material on the floor now instead of neatly tucked away overhead.

Part of me was sad to see it go...yeah, that's probably stupid, but I had a lot of memories with that TV. I can't even count how many awesome movies I watched on that thing while curled up on the couch with someone special.
