When you can't sleep, it's time to mess with the raid card
Anyway, one nice feature is that you can create multiple logical devices across multiple drives. For example, I created a raid 1+0 125G logical device across 8 drives on the card using a portion of the available space for a boot drive. Raid 1+0 is a striped set of mirrored drives. In this case, I've got 4 sets of mirrors striped together. With raid 1+0 you get speed and redundancy. The 3805 is bootable, so I'll just copy my boot drive image to the new 1+0 array and restart. I ran some tests and it looks like I'll go from about 80MB/sec on a single drive read to between 250-500 MB/sec on the 1+0 array. That should speed up windows quite a bit and keep me from spending money on those SSD drives. At least for now, anyway.
With the remainging space I generated a 1.2TB raid 6 array. Nothing new there....I had one before.
