Sucker

The week has gone by fast.... Of course you never finish as much as you'd like.
It's getting colder...fall is becoming winter. Sometimes it's interesting how the seasons blur together.
When I was 8, summer break was an endless wasteland of no responsibilites. We'd chase bugs, catch fireflies, and watch the butterflies arrive.
I miss living in the 'now'.

Another Monday in paradise

I'm here at the house, with about 200,000 other people clicking the 'buy tickets' button on the colorado rockies website. Basically it's DOA. I pretty much expected it to be this way, but you have to try anyway.
My workout today was so-so. I did the cardio, skipped the weight lifting until tomorrow. Sometimes I do that...shift the days I lift around depending on how I feel.

Anyway, sometime this week if the weather is nice I'll work from home and install my new carb and replace the water pump. It will probably have to be Thursday or Friday, since that is most likely the earliest I will see the new carb come in.
I'll probably change the oil too. Right now it has 10w30 and I should put in 5W oil for the winter.

Other than that, not much else to tell. There are about 10,000 things that need doing before the real winter get here, so

somehow I need to find time for those things as well.
I've been doing more dinner parties lately
click
which I guess is me being more social.

Fucking website.

Snow

Yesterday it was sunny at about 75. Today snow and about 25. The truck had an issue with the carb -- a stripped fitting. Think spraying gas and the potential 6pm newscast of a truck fire. I ordered a new (remanufactured) carb and used some 2 part metal bonding epoxy for a short term fix.
Most of my plans yesterday were indoor plans. I could have cancelled on friends and such but we only get together about once a month anyway. I did get a chance to work in the yard a bit, but my choice would have been to swap our crappy weather today for yesterday, or swap the events.
Today I finished fixing the truck, which basically meant hooking up the fuel line and checking for a fuel leak (none). I cleaned out part of the garage for room to park inside, since it appears that winter is either here, or soon coming. I did some house cleaning, took a nap, shopped at costco, and now am watching the bronco's game and working on a patent application.
Tomorrow I'll try getting rockies tickets with about 100,000 other peeps online at 10am for the world series games.

Fall

I Like fall. I'm not exactly sure what it's all about, but there is something in the air.
I like fall when the leaves cover the ground out in front of the house. Not all of them, just enough to give everything that orange color. I like it when it's raining, drizzling out. Not crazy wake the dead rain, just a light sprinkle with grey skies and an orange yard.
Fall is nice because I can wear long sleeved shirts again. It's nice because I can sleep with the windows open and cold fingers reach under the covers at night.
Fall makes me want to stock the basement with food. It's probably a Midwestern boy thing. You think of planning for those snowed in days at home. God forbid you run out of canned tuna while locked in winters snowy white knuckle grip.
Fall makes me think of dating again. I think about curling up on the couch watching a movie with someone while the fireplace does it's magic. I think about catching a warm kiss in the mountains while out snowshoeing. I think of hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps.
Fall is all those things.
