Staying Alive

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
since I was born.
And now it's all right. It's OK.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
the New York Times' effect on man.

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.

Well now, I get low and I get high,
and if I can't get either, I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right. It's OK.
I'll live to see another day.

Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah. Stayin' alive.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm,
I've been kicked around since I was born.
And now it's all right. It's OK.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.

Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me, yeah.
I'm stayin' alive.

Build your own charger/radio station

One project I'm doing for a client is this single/dual and quad battery charger. The single is easy -- it just charges the phone. The dual is phone plus external battery. Quad = 4 batteries. It's not that remarkable at all... some power converter (buck hysteretic controller at 500khz) a microprocessor, and a battery charging chip.

The design went fine...but the pre-FCC EMI scans suck. Basically I've got my own little battery charger / radio station which radiates EMI at a nice peak of 48MHZ. The 10m scan shows 50dbm.

Whoo! I'm in radio!

Off to estes park to hot tub with some hot girls. Wish you were there...sort of.

Secret santa

I come home early and after being upstairs for a while the dog starts barking at the front door. I go down, and see the back of some girls head driving away. I can't tell who it is. In the door is a DVD and some burts bees lip balm. No note/card of course.

I guess I have a secret santa.

Girl illusions

For some reason, girls seem to think that how you break up with them matters. They've got this illusion that if only you had done it differently, they would feel better about it. Like for instance, you flew them to Paris, had a nice romantic weekend, climbed the Eiffel tower, then dumped her.

Suddenly everything would be ok. She wouldn't be upset at all. I mean, it's Paris for Christ sake! We'll enjoy the rest of the weekend. Maybe even have some more sex! So you turn around to enjoy the view, and she's clubbing you over the head like some baby seal.

It really doesn't matter. Sit them down, tell them in person, on the phone, email, text messages, singing telegram, post card, certified letter -- the results are the same. One pissed off girl.

One pissed off girl thinking to herself 'if only he'd have told me in Paris'.

Sure.

Parting gift

I opened my eyes
While you were kissing me once more than once
And you looked as sincere as a dog
Just as sincere as a dog does,
When it's the food on your lips with which it's in love

I bet you could never tell
That I knew you didn't know me that well
It is my fault you see
You never learned that much from me

Oh you silly, stupid pastime of mine
You were always good for a ride
And from the first to the last time
The signs says 'stop'
But we went on whole-hearted it ended bad
But I love what we started
They said 'stop'
But we went on whole-hearted it ended bad
But I love what we started

I took off my glasses
While you were yelling at me once more than once
So's not to see you see me react
Should've put 'em, should've put 'em on again
So I could see you see me sincerely yelling back

I bet your fortressed face
Belied your fort of lace
It is by the grace of me
You never learned what I could see

Oh you silly, stupid pastime of mine
You were always good for a ride
And from the first to all the last time
All the signs says 'stop'
But we went on whole-hearted it ended bad
But I love what we started
They said 'stop'
But we went on whole-hearted it ended bad
But I love what we started

MEETinDENVER Wine social -- Best of the year

Event Link

If you missed this one...well you missed some fun. We got together this time with our favorite wines of the year -- red, white, and even a pink one. People brought appetizers, desserts, and a white elephant gift for exchange.

Some classics from the night: Anita complaining that the edamame didn't have anything in it (she was eating from the discard bowl -- ewww!), Lisa hoping someone would want to exchange with her backstreet boys cd, or Tom wondering what he was going to do with his newly unwrapped present -- a gallon of mustard.

Born too slow

just like seventies goofballs
he's waiting on last calls
well listen to method man
'cause if you leave on the last line
don't leave on the ground kind
born just a little too slow
just a little too slow
just a little too
oh, your lives are more than two
just a little too
oh, just a little too
'cause if ya picture the wrong kind
you'll know you'll be turnin' blind
got outta your head
bangin' tail just the wrong way
you'll know that a turnin' grey
i'm just a little too slow
oh, your lives are more than two
slow
oh, your lives are more than two
just a little too
just a little too
your lives are more than two
just a little too
oh, your your life's a born in two
just a little too slow
'cause if you leave on the last line
don't leave on the ground kind
well listen to method man
cause if you leave him callin'
you'll know you'll be fallin'
lights are bummin' low
your shot off and bum and go
lives are bummin' low
your shot off and bum and go
born just a little too

Babylon

Friday night I'm going nowhere
All the lights are changing green to red
Turning over TV stations
Situations running through my head
Well looking back through time
You know it's clear that I've been blind
I've been a fool
To ever open up my heart
To all that jealousy, that bitterness, that ridicule

Saturday I'm running wild
And all the lights are changing red to green
Moving through the crowd I'm pushing
Chemicals all rushing through my bloodstream
Only wish that you were here
You know I'm seeing it so clear
I've been afraid
To tell you how I really feel
Admit to some of those bad mistakes I've made

If you want it
Come and get it
Crying out loud
The love that I was
Giving you was
Never in doubt
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now

Babylon, Babylon

Sunday all the lights of London
Shining , Sky is fading red to blue
I'm kicking through the Autumn leaves
And wondering where it is you might be going to
Turning back for home
You know I'm feeling so alone
I can't believe
Climbing on the stair
I turn around to see you smiling there
In front of me

If you want it
Come and get it
Crying out loud
The love that I was
Giving you was
Never in doubt
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now

Babylon, Babylon, Babylon

Still breathing

I'm still breathing. Actually feeling better...maybe due to the random weird foul tasting things Robyn has been making me take.

Tomorrow I pick up Javon for the BBBS xmas party...then off to a formal xmas party at Amy's place later that night. It should be fun....

I'm wide awake but I suppose I should try to sleep....

Concert
