Dressed for the gym. I'm starting a new on site contract in Boulder next week, so these will be the last nap/up late days for a while.

I have some errands to run today. The city and county of broomfield is pissed I haven't paid my corporate property taxes on my equipment. I need to give them a check.

Tonight I have a chocolate social party. Probably about 30+ people, chocolate, wine, food here at 7pm. I need to make a chocolate cheesecake in between working and those last minute party details.

Tomorrow night there is some happy hour thing I'd like to go to, Saturday a free zoo day (bringing Javon), Sunday some day hiking with Hilary then dinner at the house here with Jeff and Mel.

Beef strip loin theme dinner

For the omnivores: a roast beef dinner theme party. The roast was a strip loin, which is the same cut of meat used to make a New York strip steak. This particular roast was dry aged in the refrigerator uncovered for 3 days.

Add in some friends, wine, potato salad, desserts, and a salad and dinner it was.

Fall

It's getting colder out. That, plus it's damn dark out! I woke up about 6am this morning and I figure I might as well do the gym and get to work. It's going to be a busy day.

The Sancerre AC surrounds the village of Sancerre and thirteen others in the upper portion of France's LOIRE Valley. It's located 120 miles south and slightly west of Paris, where Sancerre white wines first gained a huge following before becoming international favorites. SAUVIGNON BLANC is the grape used for the white wines, which are generally produced in a CRISP, highly ACIDIC style with herb and gooseberry characteristics-very similar to those from the neighboring POUILLY-FUMÉ AC. The best white Sancerre AC wines come from the better producers in the villages of Bué, Chavigno, Ménétréol, and Verdigny and not from the village of Sancerre itself. Small amounts of red and ROSÉ wines are made from PINOT NOIR grapes, but most of these are rather LIGHT and not nearly as highly regarded as the white wines.

Special instructions: Bring 1 bottle of the theme wine per person or couple, and some appetizers to share with the group.

Chianti wine event

The theme wine event this month was Chianti, which is a name given to an appellation in Tuscany, Italy. Chianti can be made with a number of different varieties.
We had a number of great appetizers to go with them, including a number of Italian home made treats.
There were quite a few new faces this time, which is always great to see.
We finished the night up about 2am.

Busy

Chianti last saturday, a wedding sunday, today dropped fiona off at the airport. Tomorrow Greek night, wed CapuVino, Friday champagne pj party, saturday a wine class.

Saturday I'm helping one of the Jennifers move, then a bbq in wash park afterwards. Sunday I should work on the yard, or do some day hiking.
